Helzik Frinkle
Helzik Frinkle's arm and ankle ached. He swung slowly, back, forth and side to side, sometimes in circles, as the dark city streets rapidly scrolled by below him. His arm ached because, moments earlier, the part of the plan which had him resting in a comfortable leather sling for the late night journey failed. It was only his quick reactions, born from a lifetime of thievery, that allowed said lifetime to continue at all. Although, it has to be said, probably with one fewer limbs or maybe, if he was lucky, with only a partially crippled hand. Halving his total number of useable hands, he thought ponderously, could have certain benefits. Although many schemes swam to the front of Helzik's head of fake-hand related cons, his cheery outlook momentarily failed him as the itchy hemp rope tightened painfully around his forearm.

Farrin Whitefoot
There weren't always dragons in the valley. In fact, only moments ago there were no mythical creatures of any sort anywhere. At least, that's what Farrin had been brought up believing. He continued to believe this even now, while his entire vision was filled with a plethora of said creatures. It wasn't that his mind argued against the evidence provided so thoroughly by his eyes. His thoughts never got that far. The part of him which dealt with logic simply curled up into a ball and decided that life would be altogether much easier if it switched off for a few minutes. Perhaps it would try a reboot? - Farrin's eyes were taking in rather a lot of what can only be described as nonsense. Yes. A quick restart was in order.

Pella Lovell
When Pella Lovell finished her degree with a score of 66G - a couple of points above a fail, she was neither surprised, nor worried. If anyone had asked why she had been attending lessons at The Gran Fier University, she would have answered "I don't know really..." then she would have drifted into a crowd, never to raise potential interest again. It wasn't that Pella was shy, or even that she disliked the company of others, she just felt content enough with her own company to not require anyone else's. There were people in her life who would consider her a friend, but Pella thought that most of these people were a little odd sometimes, and downright bafflingly irrational the rest of the time. They all did better in exams though. If Pella had been a different woman, she would have questioned whether she ought to adopt some of their ways. As it was, she wasn't a different woman, didn't want to be a different woman and, if she could help it, would never become a different woman.
