Sharemarket Development in 1950-1960 (1st Decade after Independence): In the 1950s to 1960s, the stock market in India was in its early stages of development. The number of listed companies was limited, and the majority of investment was concentrated among a small group of individuals and institutions. Financial literacy and access to information were also limited, and the stock market was not yet seen as a mainstream investment option.
