Serious Squad Goals: When 'Suicide Squad' Met Harry Potter!
The world of cinema is full of some pretty epic pairings - Thelma and Louise, Batman and Robin, Harry Potter and...Harley Quinn? Despite both films being property of Warner Bros, we doubt 'The Boy Who Lived' and 'The Clown Princess of Crime' will be meeting anytime soon. However, it was full on 'squad goals' over the weekend as Margot Robbie and Ben Affleck 'pottered' on down to London's Palace Theatre to indulge in some magic. Could Harley be swapping 'damaged' tattoos for lightning-shaped scars?

Daddy Issues: We Finally Know Who Ash's Father Is(n't) In Pokémon!
There are more Pokémon theories out there than Ratattas in Pokémon Go, but now one popular theory has been well and truly debunked! It is time to take off the tin foil as we get one step closer to unravelling the mystery of just who Ash Ketchum's father is. As the star of the anime series, Ash's daddy issues have formed one of the franchise's biggest mysteries since the series' creation - did the show go full Goku and tragically killed him off, or is Ash's father some deadbeat dad who abandoned his family? Back in 2008 the anime show's director Masamitsu Hidaka even teased that we may meet Mr. Ketchum if Ash needed to "grow". Eight years later and we are still waiting, Hidaka! We're still no closer to the mysterious father of Ash.

Times Flies: What Makes David Cronenberg's 'The Fly' The Greatest Remake Ever ?
It is nostalgia time again here at Movie Pilot, as from tiny maggots do mighty flies grow. We take a look back at what made 1986's The Fly such a masterpiece and re-visit David Cronenberg's winged horror. With the tagline "Be afraid, be very afraid", how many horror-tots of today would know that such an iconic phrase originated with The Fly? As a staple of any good DVD collection, The Fly has been parodied, sequelled and talked about being remade for the past 30 years. This is how one director's horror-opus can still create a 'buzz' three decades later!

'90s Nostalgia: 'Rugrats' And The Tragic Story Of Melinda Finster!
Time to dust off your old VHS tapes and regress to childhood, as we're about to revist Rugrats - that colourful Nickelodeon show where a group of talking toddlers try and make a Great Escape from their play-pen every week. A staple of '90s Saturday morning television, Rugrats ran for nine seasons, had three feature-length movies and even a spin-off (All Grown Up) with the babies as teenagers. You had Tommy the plucky leader, who was joined by his bossy cousin Angelica, as well as Phil and Lil, his daring sidekicks. Then you had Chuckie - the scaredy cat who never quite seemed to fit in. In reality, Chuckie's backstory was more tragic we first realised, resulting in a saga that has gone on since 1991.

Bryan Fuller Boldy Takes 'Star Trek: Discovery' Where No Man (Or Woman) Has Gone Before!
As we prepare to hit warp speed, more details about Bryan Fuller's hotly anticipated Star Trek television show are arriving on deck. Titled Star Trek: Discovery, the new series promises to be the most daring series in the franchise yet. Previously we had just been given a rather sparse Comic-Con teaser, but Fuller revealed more details at the Television Critics Association's summer press tour. Fuller gave us a tantalising taste of what is to come, telling the public:

Paging Dr. Munsch: Jamie Lee Curtis Returns In Latest 'Scream Queens' Promo.
The promos for the second season of Scream Queens are coming thick and fast, and now it's Jamie Lee Curtis's Dean/Dr. Munsch who stands front and centre. It's time to hype up the hypodermic needles as Ryan Murphy's campy horror will be swapping sororities for scrubs when the show returns next month. Aquamarine always was my colour!

'Star Wars: Episode VIII' Director's Cryptic Tweet Backs Insane Fan Theory!
They say there is no 'Snoke' without fire, and this is a doozy of a fan theory. Admittedly there are more tin-foil hat conspiracies floating around the Lucasverse than in your average episode of Game of Thrones, but some gain a lot of traction. From Supreme Leader Snoke being Darth Vader, to Luke's evil motives, we have heard them all. Let's just say we were shocked when fresh off the set of Episode VIII, director Rian Johnson teased fans about one of the craziest theories ever. You know the one...Jar Jar Binks is a Sith.

This Dark Knight x Scott Pilgrim Mashup Is Everything We Wanted From 'Suicide Squad'
There is no denying that Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy veered the franchise away from the campy tones and sour taste that Batman & Robin left in our mouths in 1997. With its noir undertones, the trilogy did sometimes seem like it was a little on the depressing side, but fear not fandom! YouTubers Inventor Headquarters have chucked a whole load of neon at the Nolanverse to mash up the Dark Knight with Edgar Wright's Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. The 2010 film, based on Bryan Lee O'Malley's graphic novel, takes Michael Cera on a mission to defeat his girlfriend's seven deadly exes. Whilst Bruce Wayne vs. The World just looks like Bruce's deadly enemies trying to kill him, you get the idea of what they are going for.

Hey Leonardo DiCaprio, Is That You At Rio 2016?
Has Leonardo DiCaprio swapped Wall Street for the streets of Rio? The internet seems to think so! As this year's Olympics 2016 kicked off in Rio, it looks like USA archer Brady Ellison bears more than a striking resemblance to the Oscar-winning actor. From eating the raw liver of a Bison on the Revenant set, Leo certainly likes to take on method acting before a new role, so could the actor be gearing up for a Hunger Games spin-off, with him as a titular archer? Ridiculous theory, we know, but as doppelgängers go, Ellison does look a lot like the Titanic actor.

Michael Biehn Drops 'Newt' Information On Returning For 'Alien 5'!
Whilst everyone gears up for next year's Prometheus prequel, Alien: Covenant, I am the one waiting for a big face-hug from Neill Blomkamp's long-mooted Alien 5. Sure, Covenant has teased the possibility of meeting meeting Ellen Ripley's mother, but with Sigourney Weaver on board for Alien 5, who can beat the woman herself?
