Q-TIP that S@#T!!!!
It was a disheartening January/February in 2019 when the Jussie Smollett “incident’ added to frictions in the Chicago Police Department and communities. I have beloved family members and friends who are part of the LGBTQ community. Smollett’s guilty verdict in December 2021 of felony disorderly conduct for staging a fake hate crime seemed to have set strides towards LGBTQ acceptance back 10 years hypothetically.

Memoirs of TD: Life Congealed
Her life still haunts me after 21 years. It’s a sad story of poverty, incest, love, lack of love, homelessness, and depression. Children can overcome and become successful through those circumstances but sometimes, your life is damned whether you do or don’t. I didn’t have the perfect life. Both of my parents were alcoholics and parental supervision for me was sometimes watching myself. But her life, her life was created out of a nightmare. Doomed the moment she entered the world and took her first breath.

Bailiwick
The rain was falling vicariously on my head. The night breeze smelled of clean air and the moon shined so beautifully in the sky. The sound of cars passing by didn’t deter me. I just imagined them as a symphony. The night was warm, but the rain gave it a refreshing touch. As the water gently caressed my arched back, all I could think of was, “Why are you doing this Amorous?”

The Unwieldy Façade
I’ve never been so content. Well at least as far as I can remember back to a year ago. Aaron and I are on our 5th child after 10 years of marriage. I haven’t told him yet because it’s been a year since my accident, and I am not sure how he will take it. He’s the dream of women here in Anderson. A nice, well-mannered country boy with a full-time job in the military. He is 10 years my senior but that doesn’t seem to matter.

Coped
This is the surreal moment when you wish a parallel universe would reveal itself to you. I unexpectedly lost my mother. I know she fought a battle all her life and I knew she would lose it someday but, on that day, I just couldn’t see to whom or what she lost this battle to. For far too long, I had witnessed her demons, her struggles, her kryptonite. I loved her for who she was and hated her for what she wasn’t. There is a difference.
