Son of The Dragon
Legends tell of mighty and noble beasts, the dragons. Now they are scarce but once they ruled the land, they ruled the people as wise sages, or powerful tyrants. Some say man grew tired of their rule, and slayed every dragon they could, while others say man coveted the hoards of the dragons buried in their mountain keeps. But that isn’t the story I wish to tell you, and I know it's not the story you want to hear. You wish to hear of Draken, the man raised by a dragon. A man who transcended flesh and became a dragon.

Cosmic Balances In Myth
The King Arthur myths and legends are a prime example of the heroic journey. His call to adventure is some myths that start when he pulls Excalibur from a stone. It proves to be his call to adventure because he is the only one who can do it, the only one worthy of the sword because he is the son of Uther. He is the rightful king of England and only he can rule. His mentor and supernatural aid comes in the form of Merlin the druid, the Lady of the lake and his sword Excalibur. Merlin is often tied to magic and seen as a wise man in most stories and tellings with great power who educates Arthur sometimes by turning him into animals, in other tellings he is the one who created the sword Excalibur another item that in some sources seems magical or has magical properties, one being that only Arthur and can use the sword. And the Lady of the lake who in some cases also holds onto the sword for Arthur can give it to him so long as he is near some body of water, so long as he is close to a source of water he can summon the sword thanks to her help. Then you have his knights such as Percival, Lancelot, and Gawain to name a few. They are his allies in his journey, each providing some form of help to him and his cause, whether it is Percival and his strength or Gawain with his humanity. They help him along his journey and fight for him and his kingdom. Now during the time in which this story would have been originally told in an oral tradition it was during the Saxon migration from Germania to the British Isles and perhaps during the Viking age in which England was divided and didnt have a single king. This myth of a great warrior king who ruled over all England would have been seen as a rallying call, a way to unite the people against a single threat. But the moral and philosophical purpose of this myth is that all of England can be united under one banner no matter what boundaries exist and when times are at their darkest a ray of light shines through.

The Shackles of The Genocide Convention
Following the events of World War II the countries of the world came together and agreed on a legal document. A legal document that would ensure the prevention and punishment of genocide. The Genocide Convention. Sadly due to state sovereignty, the document is useless. Since its creation, it has not once been employed due to different interpretations and definitions of the Genocide Conventions by the international court on how to prosecute the crime and dictate punishment, as well as the qualifications of a genocide and who is guilty of the crime.

When Is It Time to Intervene
John Stuart Mill once said “Bad men need nothing more to compass their ends, than that good men should look on and do nothing”. A statement based on truth and fact, as a species that lives in a society where many people consciously make the choice to not help when others need it, and instead act on self preservation. As a society, as a species we must instead choose to intervene and help, protect one another as a collective unit, and do everything in our power to help no matter the situation; whether it's based on instinct, religion and cultural normalities, or out of compassion.

What Makes A Character Memorable
William Shakespeare has created a magnitude of unique and purely human characters in all his works such as Iago from Othello and Cleopatra from Antony and Cleopatra. His unique characters also served as inspiration for other unique literary figures such as Iago being the template for Milton's Lucifer from Paradise Lost. However these three characters all have something in common, it's their personalities. They are often self-destructive, narcissistic, envious, and borderline psychopathic or sociopathic tendencies. And ultimately their humanity.

Beowulf vs Gawain
The story of Beowulf and the story of Sir Gawain, are clearly two different stories each reflecting values of two different cultures and traditions from different points in time. Beowulf is credited as a piece of literature from the Anglo-Saxon culture, which in its purest essence is a Germanic culture. A culture that was centered around war and combat prior to Christianity being introduced to the region. Not only did the culture venerate war and combat, it followed an oral tradition. Because of that Beowulf is a character fixated on combat, trying to prove himself as a great warrior and earning his place in legend to be passed on. He also regails the people in the hall with tales of his own victory, triumph, and might. To prove he is someone to be feared and respected. When it came to his fight with the monster Grendel, the monster most likely shows human fear as he is never given description as to what he looks like, he is the unknown and it can be put forward that Grendel is death itself, and the fact that Beowulf chose to fight bare-handed and left it up to fate to decide the outcome is a very important detail.

Koryos
A week ago, the news covered a murder story. Victim was found in his home with claw marks on his chest, just torn to shreds and most likely bled to death. However the scene shows that it was more like his heart was removed from his chest and just exploded. Blood was splattered on the walls and ceiling. The authorities are suspecting it to be a plain old murder, however there were no signs of force entry and no dna evidence was present. If that was the case then they would not be asking us for help.

The Deal At The Crossroads
I’m at that point in life, were you just ask “How did my life end up like this?”, but sadly I know. I know exactly how I made my fortune, how I got so damn good at the guitar and made a name for myself. I made a deal. This wasn’t an ordinary deal though, no this was something special. I went down to the crossroads. I placed objects of great value in a box and buried it; in the center. And I waited. I waited, till the air grew cold around me, and behind me. Stood a man, a man wearing a black suit, with a black tie, and a black shirt. He came from nowhere, no sound was made, nothing was there. I remember his voice so clearly, so coarse and dry like he had swallowed fire and smoke leaving his throat scared and burnt.
