Just Live Your Life Like Your Story
There is nothing I dislike more than people going out of their way to brag about their "good deeds". I have a good reason for this discontentment though. Bare with me here. When I hear your story of how you bought a homeless person a sandwhich and gave them some money, or went out of your way to help a friend in need - my first thought will always be - why does this have to be so special?? From the bottom of my heart I truly mean it. Because in my opinion, which you don't have to care about, I believe that you should live EVERY DAY like you are entering a good deed writing challenge. EVERY DAY you should be acting from the kindness of your soul to help others feel better. Your life motto should be to always leave a place more positive than when you entered it. This can relate to work, roles you've done in your career, volunteering, or even something as common as the gas station. When you leave the room, are people smiling because you made them feel important? Did you go out of your way to acknowledge them? Make something better for them? Turn their day around with a smile, a wave, or even your positive attitude? I don't want to sit through and read your great, outstanding deeds because these should be commonalities. This challenge should be "what is something you do every day" and if that answer is "a good deed" then boom. You my friend are on the right path and journey to contentment. But if this above anecdote does not meet the criteria for the good deed challenge, then fine, I will share everything I did today as an example to my words above.
