Hachi was a brilliant brown Akita Inu brought into the world on November 10, 1923, in Odate, Japan. He was brought to the US by his proprietor, Teacher Hidesaburo Ueno, in 1924. Ueno was a teacher of farming at Tokyo Magnificent College and had been given a task at the College of Tokyo. Hachi was a gift from Ueno's sibling, who was likewise an Akita raiser.
