5 Things To Consider This Alcohol Awareness Week
There’s a deep rooted stigma around alcohol, but it is rare that something that is such a common component of all of our lives is so difficult to discuss. We love to cheer for ‘wine aunts’ and to end tough days with ‘just the one’ (which never really is just one) but why do we accept this culture when we so openly condemn other drug related habits? Across the world the sales of alcohol soared as we entered the Spring Lockdown, but as we sit in our second lockdown I want you to think about your consumption of alcohol under a microscope. Lockdown allows us time to reassess our lives and to form new healthy habits, so here are five things to consider this Alcohol Awareness Week.

Small Life Changes With Life-Changing Results
Ireland has just finished its first week of its second nation-wide lockdown, and now more of our friends and family across the UK and Europe will be joining us. It is difficult to believe we are back in this situation only seven months later, and it is even more difficult to remain hopeful. Winter brings with it its own hardship, the days are shorter and darker and the weather is less inviting for outdoor activities, but we must adapt and make the best of what we have. This is our second chance to do lockdown right, we can take what we learned from the last one into this one, and we can truly make time to focus on our own well-being whilst minding others health. To help, I have put together a not too challenging list of 'hacks' to make this winter lockdown a little easier on your spirit.

The Week That Could Have Changed Irish History, But Didn't.
In a tumultuous week in Irish politics, Hozier, among others, criticised the Irish Government on Twitter in the days following the controversial vote which inadvertently ‘seals’ the archives detailing the abuse suffered by Women and Children “tantamount to human trafficking” at the hands of the Catholic Church and The State. The Bill which brought an end to the Commission Investigation has left a nation with whiplash, and as we try to pick up the pieces of what happened - it is probably easiest to start at the beginning.

This Halloween most definitely won’t be the celebration that has become tradition to us, but that doesn’t mean it has to be lost. Halloween is so much more than mountains of sugar and litres of fake blood, it is spiritual, a little superstitious and a whole lot of fun.
