The Meat of Happiness
I ponder on what sublimity happiness holds. One that truly lasts a lifetime, if not longer. Such miracles are beyond my feeble reach. No matter how much I desire such a thing it always escapes me like a crafty mouse to a trap. What must one do to obtain this grace? Perhaps it is something that will forever be too much of a good thing for me. Am I a being that is beneath the blessings of God? What sins have I committed to be omitted from the Heavens? I equate the extended form of happiness to the meat of a prime rib. One grilled and smothered in barbecue sauce. In my life, I am only given the scraps of its surface, while I am forced to watch the ones that eat from it devour it down to the marrow. To even suck on the bones of such a thing would make this life all the more worthwhile. Just a bite from the source would do. All I ask is for a true glimpse of happiness, but instead, I am afforded false, brief clips of a feature film. To eat is to experience! I can see it in the eyes of those that eat from the meat of happiness.

Ties of the World
Hold my hand and experience the love I have reserved for you all. A love ripe with a passion for bonds and rich moments. It has been two decades since I have been on this earth, yet our bloodline has been around for centuries. It has encircled the globe throughout history in a multitude of countries and continents. We are of regal descent and we should all act as such. None of us is superior to the others, no matter age or status. It has been a heavenly journey during my stay on the Virginia shores. I have relearned the single request that our late father had wished for: for us all to be in great standing with one another and to unify as one. Upon this throne I sleep on, our father once slept and pondered. His thirteen children were always heavy on his mind. The DNA of a tireless worker flows through us all. None of us are meant to waste away on the shores of regret and solitude. Lead not yourselves nor your offspring into the sands of turmoil and abandonment. Rather, lead them rightfully into the hall of our majesty.

The Waves of Father
A hazy night with one of my sisters leads us to the shores that neighbor Europe. In the gentle breeze of the Atlantic, I can barely stand straight, let alone walk without swaying like an unbalanced scale. The air smooches my cheeks as if they were my lover, and satiates my nostrils with the charming scent of serene oceanic salt. We stroll down the beach a little further and notice green, yellow, and red flashing lights in the distance. Some shine brighter than others as they permit us to stop, yield, and go at their discretion. The sound of minute waves crashing down on the beach is like the sublime music of old. A joyous and tipsy grin slides across my face as if the surface of the former was a waterslide at a park. The sand betwixt my toes is both grainy, like uncooked cream of wheat, and smooth, like cold all-purpose flour. What intricate positivity is this? Relative amusement fills our voices as we giggle drunkenly.
