A Mother's Dilemma
Synopsis: In Cruel "Therapy," Brenda comforted her daughter Lori after an intense anxiety attack. Lori has a phobia of boxes, which is called Kasoniphobia. The attack was intentionally provoked by her brother Bryan. Their story continues here.

"Run, Tommy, run!" I whispered, urging Tommy to keep going. He was a ballsy little kid, 10 years old and smart. We had just escaped from a homeless shelter run by crazy religious fanatics.

Crochet
When I was 8 years old, my mom taught me how to crochet. My mom is very crafty. She loves to sew, crochet and quilt. Mom patiently showed me what to do. There were lots of rows pulled out and redone on my first projects. It was frustrating, but I kept at it. My practice project was made using the most hideous brown yarn. After that project was to mom's satisfaction, I was allowed to start a new project with prettier yarn. I picked out a beautiful baby blue yarn. It took me about a year to make a throw pillow. I was so excited when that last stitch was complete and my pillow was stuffed. Then, I stopped crocheting. I learned to cross stitch and knit but I really preferred to be left alone with a good book.

Cruel Therapy
Lori turned off the vacuum cleaner with a sense of accomplishment. As she admired the perfectly straight lines on her carpet, Lori felt her phone vibrate in her back pocket. Glancing at the screen, she was surprised to see an alert from her doorbell camera. Lori clicked the alert and felt her heart leap into her throat. On her porch was a brown paper wrapped box. Lori's heart began to pound as she looked at the box. She had no idea why there would be a box on her porch. As long as she could remember, Lori hated packages in boxes. When she ordered products online, she had them shipped to her mother. Her mother would unbox the items and hand deliver them to her. She felt her anxiety increasing as she rapidly closed the app. She couldn't bear to look at that box.
