The sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows across the dense forest. Nora tightened her grip on the lantern, its warm glow barely pushing back the encroaching darkness. Her grandmother's stories about the Whispering Forest played in her mind: tales of hidden voices, strange lights, and paths that seemed to shift underfoot. But tonight, her curiosity outweighed her fear. She had seen a fleeting glow through the trees the night before, and it felt like the forest was calling her back.
