The Wheel
There weren't always dragons in the Valley. Some days they could be forgotten. People plastered smiles on their faces, kept their heads down, prayed to gods who had long since stopped listening for that fleeting shred of normalcy to last. Other days, massive wings blotted out the sun, plunged the Valley into a swarming, hungry darkness that never seemed to end.

Masking Freedom?
*Names in the interviews have been changed to protect their privacy.* It's been two years since the covid-19 pandemic overtook the world, and in America the debate over wearing masks still reigns strong. With the rise of new variants, from delta to omicron to others which may yet manifest, masks and vaccines are still a contentious point of conversation.

Tonight
It wasn’t English. Not Spanish either. сегодня ночью. Mira traced the faded characters with her little finger, a delicate touch she feared might make the photograph crumble. Yellow stained the edges. Between her fingers it felt like parchment, a scratchy sort of repulsion; she had to fight to keep from tossing the photo. The front was no better. She could barely make out the face in the old black-and-white, which by now was mostly white with age.
