Something lost
The muddy roads covered in pot holes fills with water as the rain poured down, soaking through my dirty cloak, worn and riddled with holes, barely even covering my shivering back. I trudge slowly across the street, lamp flickering in the evening sky, distracting me momentarily so I couldn’t even notice the horse drawn carriage racing towards me. A screeching of wheels, a horse neighing fearfully, and I am rammed so hard the air instantly leaves my lungs as I fly into the air, as if in slow motion, before slamming onto the ground, every part of my body screaming in varying degrees of pain.
