Introduction: For decades, Lego, which is short for "leg godt" in Danish and means "play well," has captured the interest of both children and adults around the world. Lego was first started as a tiny carpentry workshop in Billund, Denmark, in 1932 by Ole Kirk Christiansen, creating wooden toys and household goods. But the business didn't start concentrating on the interlocking plastic brick technology that would ultimately transform play until the early 1950s.
