The Beauty of the Ability to go Inward
Morning walks with the dog are such a simple moment. So simple, and so consistent, I'm often doing the deed on Autopilot. I am fully in my brain, letting my thoughts catch my awareness with the intention of pulling me away from the feeling of the cold air on my skin or the liquid dripping from my red, runny nose. I don't want to feel those things. I want this to be over. Having a dog is a great reason to force you to get up in the morning cause I sure as hell wouldn't be out here otherwise... All these thoughts tumbling over one another as I bickered with myself about my life choices.

Death is Not The End
It always happened the same way. The scream tore up and out of me like lava bursting from a dormant volcano, leaving my trachea raw and painful as I struggled to comprehend my predicament. The darkness was all consuming. It was not the black that comes with nighttime, but the nothingness that overwhelms a person when they are enclosed within six walls. The memory of my own cry reverberated through my chest as I realized the ringing in my ears. The seconds ticked by, the ringing subsided, and I heard my own breath, I noticed the subtle creak of wood around me, I recognized the sound of the earth shifting slightly above my body, the worms crawling in and the worms crawling out. My inhalations became ragged as my mind slowly remembered the truth of my existence. I forced a sigh and started the process of digging out of my own grave.

The Girl Who Wanted Dragons
As the brightest of light refracted through the large stained glass windows of the Northern Observatory, Arianna tip-toed gently along the edge of sunshine, careful not to fall fully into darkness or colored light. The chess board style flooring and tall, voluminous walls created a space which amplified the subtle tread of her ballet-shoed feet as she bounced along the shadows edges. The hard-toed shoes were a gift from her father.
