Specter of La Sirene del Crescente
On the longest day of the year, a town revives an ancient solstice ritual and discovers its unexpected power... My mind was reeling on strange intrusive thoughts - so much that the tapping sound of my pen as I dazed at the page before me had become a steady and rhythmic distraction. One that after a few moments finally occurred to me as I shook off my daydream. The art commission I had intended to complete within the hour had scarcely been outlined and I still couldn't seem to focus. I didn't understand why - I had grown distant from my aunt Sharlaine over the years, and I scarcely knew her since I moved to Houston. Sure, she had raised me from the time I was four years old - and after my mother's accident I knew it couldn't have been easy. Her creepy old house in Tremé had always kinda gotten to me - and I didn't understand why she hadn't sold it after Hurricane Katrina hit.

Him & I
Something I started working on tonight... HIM & I © 2023 Author Sai Marie dedicated to JKF. I strode along the walkway – the sunset shining down on me with a golden light and seemed to fill my hair with a shimmering radiance. It was almost surreal. The years spent between the initial moment of my soul crossing paths with His; it was the sort of thing you imagine lovers of olde experience, but you – you never expected it to happen to you. And why would it?

My Lineage. Content Warning.
My lineage. My lineage is riddled with a story that is about melting pots – people of variations of races and typically the impoverished somehow. What they all had in common was being on the end of the social spectrum that didn’t appreciate their existence.

Cover Reveal & Sneak Peak
Chapter One Trek It, Girl Anabel The light of the sun was fading - and quickly. With the cascading pine trees reaching toward the heavens at heights that terrified Anabel, the idea of darkness quickly descending kind of tugged at her with a gnawing degree of concern. She wasn’t used to this - not in the least. Anabel had been raised in the Midwest among the plains and in a place, she had to get away from as soon as life would allow it. It so happened, that came with the crisp envelope that held her acceptance letter to the University of Oregon. It was the moment Ana had been waiting for since girlhood, and much to her parents’ dismay there was nothing that would hold her back. Ana instinctively tightened her fingers on the steering wheel glancing at the car gauges and immediately groaned upon noting the external temperature outside was a brisk -3 degrees.

The Masquerade of Time
Chapter One: The Bourbon Hotel Chill bumps rose up on my flesh. I couldn't shake it either - there was some kind of strange cool sensation washing over my tawny skin and I felt instantly cold. Odd - because it was hardly the time of year that one expects sudden rushes of cold. It was still early for an Autumn breeze to be hitting but somehow my body was feeling frigid, and it made me up my pace a bit. I enjoyed my evening walks through the Quarter.
