The mysterious black notebook

It’s a rainy Friday night in the village of clouds, Mikey a 10 year old orphan child lives alone in his little hut in the cloud village. The reason why this town is called the cloud village is because it’s placed high above the clouds on the mighty mountains of moneya. Many wars and droughts have struck the ppl of cloud village. They depend on livestock and farming. But kids like Mikey have to steal just to stay alive, so one day Mikey has had enough of stealing and hiding that he went on a journey to the capitol of moneya, the city of pele. Mikey called out to his horse in a traditional horse calling method used by the cloud people. The horse came running to Mikey happily as he ran he was free and wasn’t in cages like the other horses in the cloud village, that way Mikey gained the trust of rebel, the big mighty black horse. Even though Mikey is only 10, he knows and can do things most adults in his village can’t. He learnt how to swim, fish, and hunt at the age of only eight. Mikey quickly hopped on rebel and followed the trail to pele. Mikey keeps a small dagger to himself if he gets in danger, or worse bandits. Bandits have been terrorizing the cloud village for many years. Bandits even killed mikeys parents, at the age of of only five. The sun has rised and Mikey has tracked many lands and miles already. He stopped at a small village by a lake and had a quick breakfast. “Hey kid what’s your destination, where are u headed?” Said the old lady serving Mikey the breakfast. “I’m headed to pele, I’m sick and tired of stealing and hiding, i wanna make money”. The lady bursted out laughing and walked away. Rain started to pour and Mikey knows he cant stay here for long, he has to make it to pele by the end of the day. He called for rebel in the traditional horse call. Rebel came running from afar and Mikey stared to smile. Usally Mikey doesn’t smile or laugh but when around rebel he feels safe and protected. He hopped on rebel and they were on their track once again. By midnight Mikey has reached pele, but without rebel it wouldn’t have happened. Mikey let rebel free and there he ran off far away. It’s like Mikey knows he will hear his call and come to him. It’s night and Mikey has to find a place to rest. He walked and walked until an old man asked him, “hey kid why are u walking around at this time of night”. Mikey stared in his eyes and said quietly, “I need a place to sleep old man”. The old man chuckled and let Mikey sleep in his home. The man was generous to even give Mikey food. Mikey thanked the man before going to sleep and that’s how his day ended. Mikey woke up to roosters and chicken clucking, and that was his alarm because he got up immediately and walked outside. Business men advertising for their business and loud city folks something Mikey has never seen in his life. He walked around and heard a man advertising something Mikey got interested in. “Who wants to win $20,000!” Mikey turned around and asked the man to explain what he meant. “Hey kid wanna win 20,000?” Mikey smirked, shaked the mans hand and accepted the challenge. They sat at a coffee shop and chatted about the prize. “So kid ur up for the contest?” Mikey sipped his coffee and looked confidently. “Yes sir i am.” “I like ur confidence kid”. Said the man, He then explained to Mikey what he had to do, to win $20,000. Just find me that “specific black notebook” Mikey looked confused. “What do you mean that specific black notebook?”. “Imma just say it’s in the city, the black little notebook is in the city right now so find it!”. This was mikeys chance to not steal this time but earn money and feel good about himself. Mikey stood up and got to looking, he didn’t want to waste time. He first went back to the old mans house he slept in and thanked him. “Thank you old man”. He chucked and said, “no problem kid, but what are you going to do now?”. Mikey didn’t know if he should tell the old man about the black notebook. “You can tell me anything kid, your safe around me” Mikey looked at the old man with a serious fade and said, “I’m looking for a small black notebook”. The old mans eyes widened and locked the door immediately. “What are you doing”. Mikey said in a nervous tone of voice. “Look kid, don’t talk about that book aight, it’s not worth it”. “What are you talking about?”. The old Man demanded Mikey to sit down and listen. “Look kid sit down and I’ll explain everything”. They both sat down, and Mikey was nervous as ever.
