Hell-A Woman: Dead Island 2
Call me basic, call me boring, call me whatever you like, but I can't get enough of zombies... from the kitschy 'Night of the Living Dead' to the supremely unserious 'Shaun of the Dead' (let's not talk about the genuine terror of Rec, please) there's something about this horror genre staple that keeps reeling me back in.With that said, its all been done before; you really have to work hard to make a zombie game, story, or movie fresh and interesting these days. The ones that do it well, in my humble opinion, focus more on the where's and who's rather than the monsters themselves. Enter Dead Island 2.

The Visitor
There was only one rule: don't open the door. Not for any reason, not even when mama was home. It wasn't safe out there, not any more. Especially not at night. Not that Josie had ever wanted to; everything she liked was in here: Champ, her books, teddy, and mama... well, not mama. Not right now.

Careful Calculations. Content Warning.
There are few moments in life that really bring you to a standstill, but as I stand here staring at the wreckage this is definitely one of them. Thanks to the pressures of time and the inadequacies of a dull razor, my pussy looks like it has mange. There aren’t so much loose hairs as tufts are there’s a distinct shade of razor burn that can’t be ignored. The clock is ticking. First dates are rife with rules, spoken and unspoken… not using your dates razor to shave your genitals is, I’m sure, one that rarely even needs to be alluded to but here we are.

In the Shadow of Giants. First Place in Travel Snaps Challenge.
For the last 9000 years or so the Sonoran desert as we know it has stood as a testament to the strangeness and ingenuity of life. This is a place of hidden things and secretive creatures that live between the cracks and in the shadows of goliaths... it couldn't be more different from my home. Or so I thought.

Spectating. Runner-Up in Just a Minute Challenge. Top Story - April 2024.
I can't imagine dying like this, in a place like this; on a cold, dirty pavement with rush hour traffic screaming by and a crowd looking on while paramedics struggle to find space to move. Who could? Deep down we all think there should be a reason, a moment of clarity... or a family presence, at least. For this man, this boy, the rail thin woman lighting a cigarette in a faux fur jacket will have to do - she's been here since the start, her eyes tracking the movement of my shoulders as we fight to keep him on the right side of the line.

The Healer
"Life can be cruel-" words directly from my dragons mouth, and she's right. Life can be cruel, but Dannie is proof that we don't have to be, and that's a beautiful thing. I'm prone to darker feelings; I've heard it said that we each have a personal sin, and mine is definitely wrath. Dannie seems to me to be made of pure light.

Loving the Unlovely. Top Story - March 2024.
We often talk about love as if it is something beyond our comprehension. Something divine or ethereal that cannot be touched or seen. We talk about it in hushed tones or scream about it, but usually when it feels distant. When we feel it slipping away.
