What Does an Immigration Lawyer Do?

Basically, an immigration lawyer is someone who helps clients who need to get legal permission to live, study, work or retire in the United States. They do this by advising them on what kind of visa or other paperwork they need to fill out, as well as preparing the paperwork themselves. This is different from naturalization, which is a process whereby people become citizens of a country.
