The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window. We had walked past the little place with the overgrown lawn and the empty, staring windows dozens of times before. We never saw anyone. No car in the drive, no flickering from a television, nothing. Never saw a single sign of life until that one small yellow flame.
