Present Day Liz “The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window…” My grandfather trailed off, his eyes glazing over as his memories overtook him. He was uncommonly lucid today, a welcome change in demeanour for a man slowly losing the battle against Alzheimer’s. It had been four years since his diagnosis and little by little, each visit I had with him became more and more about reminding him of who I was and, worse, who he was.
