My Adventures as a Pizza Delivery Driver
If you have ever been robbed of anything before, it is one of the worst feelings in the world. Having said that, my story begins. First of all, let me give you a brief description of what kind of car I deliver pizzas in. My car came from an automotive auction, and the only key that I have ever had to the car is the ignition key. No door key, no trunk key. The right front fender is bent all out of whack and is held on with a zip tie. Also, there is no front grill on my car. Oh, by the way, the car is a Honda.

My Adventures as a Pizza Delivery Driver
It was the first time that I had worked delivering pizzas on Valentine’s Day and I did not have any idea how busy the night ahead was going to be. I just thought that it was going to be another regular night at work but that is not the way it turned out to be. The pizza restaurant that I work at offers heart shaped pizzas, if you purchase a heart shaped pizza, you got a free pizza cutter included in with your order. Okay then, I thought to myself, well I sure hope that I do not forget to put the pizza cutters in with my orders tonight for the people who have ordered the heart shaped pizzas.

My Adventures as a Pizza Delivery Driver
There is no worse time, weather-wise, as when it is raining, storming, thundering, lightning, hailing, and the wind blowing furiously outside to be delivering pizzas. Pizza Delivery Drivers are like the Post Man, we go in all kinds of weather, except I do not go in the snow or any kind of bad road situations that may arise in the winter months of the year due to inclement weather. Here is another scenario of getting to know your local part of town.

My Adventures as a Pizza Delivery Driver
It is the Holiday Time of the year again and I find myself delivering pizzas to the large country music venue hotel. The hotel is beautiful at Christmas time. Millions of Holiday lights are set into place, and all kinds of beautiful outside decorations are placed all around the hotel. The hotel at Christmas time also plays seasonal music for all to enjoy. The valet parking people are all busy running here and there to park and return the hotel guests' vehicles to them. The hotel’s shuttle buses are all decorated with either big stars on the bus with their Holiday outfits on or the other popular bus that the hotel has running during the Holiday season is the famous Grinch bus. The horse and carriage rides are all out in full force, and the hotel adds a security guard right as you are approaching the front of the hotel. This would be the first of many times that I would see this security guard during the busy time of the year.

My Adventures as a Pizza Delivery Driver
Boy, the year sure did fly by again and once more upon us all is the holiday season. I guess that this had to be my favorite time of the year to deliver pizzas, driving along to all of my customer's houses and seeing all of their beautiful Christmas decorations neatly placed in their yards for everybody to see. Around the holiday season at the store, we are all busy like little elves, running here and there and hurrying here and hurrying there. Everybody is having and also attending Christmas parties, office parties, and family get togethers at this busy time of the year, oh yeah, and how could I forget the shopping? Plus decorating, gift wrapping presents, cooking and working.

My Adventures as a Pizza Delivery Driver
As I find myself delivering pizzas once again, I am up for the next delivery at work and it is to a very large country music venue hotel. The hotel is so massive that the delivery drivers from work are not allowed to go inside of the hotel to deliver a pizza. If we were to have to go inside of the hotel to make deliveries to customers, it would take probably thirty minutes or longer, waiting at the front desk for the customer to arrive to get their food. When that delivery to the hotel comes up, the delivery drivers just pull up to where the valet parking is and the customer comes outside to meet us.

My Adventures as a Pizza Delivery Driver
As I get to work one afternoon, not long ago, I find myself traveling across town to deliver another pizza to an apartment complex. Before I left the store that day, it looks like the manager on duty would have told me what was going on with this particular order, but did not. I left the store with a zero amount on the customer's receipt. All the way to my destination, I was wondering why I had a zero amount for this order. Sometimes the store gets extremely busy and the delivery drivers can not handle the overload, so I was thinking this was probably the case. It was not.

My Adventures as a Pizza Delivery Driver
The International Airport is located just a few miles down the road from the Store. Personally, I do not think that people that work at the airport should order pizza, there is nowhere to pull over to park once you get to the airport. The security at the airport has zero tolerance for delivery drivers. I did not know this until I got pulled over by the same Security Officer three times in one night.
