Dear Self, Trust the Journey You're On
Life is a adventure, and occasionally, it feels like an endless series of twists, turns, and unexpected detours. There are moments when we question whether or not we’re on the proper path, whether or not we’re making the proper choices, or whether or not we’re without a doubt misplaced in the maze of lifestyles. But, expensive self, what if the very essence of existence is to consider the adventure we’re on? What if each step, even those that feel unsure, is main us precisely where we need to be?

What would happen if time stopped for a day?
Imagine this: suddenly, one fine morning, you open your eyes, and looking around you, everything is at a standstill. All is still; the air does not stir; the noise from the streets does not penetrate; the clock is silent. You rise up from your seat to look at the clock on the wall next to you; the clock shows the same time as when the electricity went off. The thought crosses your mind: what if somehow time is stopped? Imagine yourself waking up one fine morning and having no deadlines, commitments, jobs, or any kind of pressure to work under. It is a curious idea, and it seems that we can hardly come across a similar idea in reality, but nevertheless, it is rather an interesting idea that many people think about during centuries. Therefore, imagining the situation when the time actually stands still for a whole day? Where would you put the silence, and how would it feel? To begin with, it might be quite discomforting to come to the realization that time has ceased to exist. Several seconds pass in real life, but there is a total silence around as if the world has stopped its spinning. The tree leaves stand still, birds mid-air, the streetlights are on, but they don’t shift their colors anymore. Gods and mortals are locked in certain positions: speaking, moving, or even laughing, it seems. There is that kind of surreal realism that you get when everything is perfectly framed and nothing is moving. You could walk around the city being completely oblivious of cars or people and marvel at how beautiful ordinary places are. This could make the streets look somewhat empty because everyone else has left to go shopping, but the experience may be strangely still. You might go to such places as art galleries, museums, or historical sites that attract many tourists with close proximities. Alone, for the first time, you were fortunate enough to contemplate them without any haste or other interferences. What do you do when you have a whole day for yourself free from any commitments? Sometimes, with such heavy noise all around, one can get lost within the constant echoes of every day, but when time stands still, you would have the option of just existing. It includes getting a long sleep that lasts many hours without any interruptions through enjoying the luxury of a world that does not move forward, having been put on pause. Or maybe this would be a time that you contemplate your life and your decisions without getting some noise that has a habit of interrupting us most times. Something that the world today lacks most is the sense of freedom, and in a world where time is always fast running out, the ability to stop time would be the ultimate freedom. You would have no constraints and could do whatever you wanted, wherever you wanted, and however you wanted it. It can go on for a very long time, or it could be very short, depending on the type and the length of the analysis.
