Daewoo was founded when they purchased the Saehan Motor in 1978 and was one of the top 10 motor companies in production but when they faced a lot of financial problems then this company was bankrupt on 1 November 1999. It was then purchased by General Motor in 2001 but the company name Daewoo was used till 2011.
