The embers of sadness

There is a sadness deep inside That gnaws away at me It pulls me down and weighs me down Like a heavy stone. It fills my heart with sorrow And makes me want to cry But I know that tears won't help They'll only make me blind. So I will bear this sadness And I will try to find Some way to make it lighter And put it all behind. But even though it's hard I know that I'll be fine Because I'll never let this sadness Make me lose my mind.
