I never grew tired of the deliveries I made across the coastal range on foot. The even grades of the forested mountain path directed my steps, smooth and unencumbered. By dawn’s light, I stopped at the ridge looking at the sea, the cool wind played in my hair but the sun balanced it with a gentle warmth.
