The Right Age to Vote
The British Labour party is calling for voting age to be reduced to 16. I have never known a person aged 16 years, including myself, that I would trust to make sound judgments about the future of the entire nation. It takes several more years of responsibility to teach a young adult how to make judgments. At 16 years old, the amount of responsibility experienced by any individual is not enough to teach sound judgment.

The Future of Truth Telling
Telling the truth. How easy is it going to be to detect a lie? In the future, we will have artificially intelligent machines. This means some machines will be more intelligent than some humans. It means machines may apply logic better than most humans.

Are the Days of Honest Debate Over?
Are the days of honest debate over? Are we on a decent to continuous confrontation? It is widely acknowledged that if you are in a debate, before presenting ideas that oppose those presented by another; you talk about the parts of their view that you can agree with. Then, when you present your opposing ideas, the debate is already a discussion rather than outright confrontation. Your opponent now understands that you can see some merit in his or her position and so they are far more likely to accept at least part of your views, even those they initially disagreed with.

Meeting Housing Needs
What can we do about homes for all? How can we provide decent homes for everyone? If each nation is to provide homes for all those permanently living within its borders, the first thing necessary is that all authorities and their political opponents become honest, find and face facts, and act to deal with the realities shown by those facts and not play politics with peoples' lives just to get ahead in the opinion polls.

Understanding Intuition Will Help Your Life
As a practitioner of natural therapies for about 30 years I have heard the word “intuition” spoken many times. When I was managing a very large natural medicines clinic I would get phone calls from people asking if they could work with us. I would always ask where the person trained and what qualifications they had. A reply along the lines” you don't understand I am intuitive not trained” would get a very quick termination of the telephone call.

In the Future Will We All Use Mind Control?. Top Story - September 2017.
In the future will we all exercise “mind control” over others? I do not mean the emotional manipulation consciously used to get our own way. I mean the ability to get others to think the way we do and agree with us, just by sheer strength of mind.

Getting Better Governments
A serious question: How do we improve the quality of elected politicians? Democracy is under threat from many sources, more so than since armed conflicts of the two world wars. Now the enemies are not openly fascist and marching with guns or Bolsheviks waving a red flag; they are far more subtle but just as dangerous. Now the enemies are those who control vast fortunes and seek, understandably in some ways, to ensure that all governments act in ways that ensure these vast fortunes and the mega giant international businesses keep on growing and are not hindered by considerations and concerns of the people.
