The Past
My work likes to start us late but that also means giving us out lunches at 4, like we’re in bohemian Barcelona instead of soul sucking North America. As least North America prefers to let their employees work from home. I leave my office and enter the living room. It doesn’t feel different or look different from any other day, but today there are two packages wrapped in brown paper. I open both, and they’re batteries for a laptop that I don’t even use. I was going to disregard both packages until I saw a URL for a song. Oh God. I got someone trying to link me their Spotify songs.

Cold Slices
It’s a good trade off, right? Buy a breakfast that has enough calories for two meals, walk it off. You take more out than you put in. But why does something have more calories because it has pieces of lettuce and tomatoes on it? Apparently, it’s healthier to just have an egg between two pieces of bread. I mean, from what I heard calories are an outdated, Victorian way of measuring health, but unless they have something else to replace it, I’ll follow that. Either way, buying breakfast instead of making it is getting too expensive. After this walk I gotta buy food.

Down the Barn
I’ve done a lot of procrastinating today. I threw out things in the trash, did the dishes, took my roommate’s Erik’s cat out for a walk, turned people down on dating apps. And even then, there were still 4 hours before Erik and his new girlfriend Tara can come over. She headhunted me, asked me for my resume. And now I’m waiting whether or not my badly written resume was good enough for her companies.

Summer Hiding Spaces
Sometimes I wear it like a necklace like a regular person. But today I alternate between putting in the left side pocket on my shorts or tie the chain on my left hand. I used to wear one of those fitness watches but then I started running – not the fitness kind but the running away from something kind. And during one of those emergency runs I lost it. I always lose it and run back to get it but not this time.
