I am an actor and a writer. I began to write when the pandemic began back in March of the year 2020 when I crossed the South of the US on my bicycle and went home to Ukraine for four months. The longest I've been there since I left.

Jackal. You are wild and timid. Are you binge-worthy?
The original Jackal is a story of the very bad guy on one side chased by a very good guy which was based not only on money commitment but on loyalty to their home country and their personal history between them. They were driven mainly by their professionalism and keen goal to achieve what they had wanted to achieve, mainly to be free. In the new version of this story, things are a little different.

People of NOLA
I remember when I arrived at NOLA the first place, where I stopped was near the French Quarter where I met my host Xavier. He was neither old nor young man with a bald head, lean body, and cautious eyes. When he showed me my room I was in awe. It was the most comfortable place I have seen so far. I even had my TV. He made me feel very welcome. He was comfortable to host me and looking at how neat his house was you would guess he ran an Airbnb. He later told me he even built a separate entrance just for himself so the guest could feel alone and he could remain in the comfort of his place. Once, a couple of girls wanted to allure him to their room after a fun night out in NOLA but he refused. He was rather particularly professional about endeavors like that. I respected that about him. I took a shower to relax after a really hot day riding along the Mississippi River. Xavier prepared a Charcuterie board with figs, cheese, and meat to go with beer and invited his neighbor Anton to join us, which Anton gladly accepted. We waited for him on a porch, where X told me a bit about himself and his experience of leaving France and living in the US. He even told me how he was proposed to by his last girlfriend. I’ve never met anyone like that before. He refused her proposal. I asked him, “Why?” He told me he was afraid that one day they may have a fight and she would say:” You only married me cuz you wanted documents!” His eyes looked into the distance remembering that episode. Somehow It felt like he came back to it from time to time wondering. He’s also told me about him wanting to go on a long bicycle tour, similar to my experience. I got excited and told him that he better get ready and go. He sat there and said: “Someday.” I was slightly shocked. I nearly forgot how people can talk themselves out of anything until that moment. The garage door of the house across the street started opening up. Then we saw Anton pulling in his old white SUV. When he came out of his car he told us he would be back after he took a shower. Anton was a young lawyer, whose dad raised him by sending him to a law school, which gave him the life he lives now. He sat next to me and told us about his day at a court and his client who was getting a divorce. He came across as pretty open and talkative and likes to paint in his spare time, showing us some of his works over a beer. He had an eye. X invited me to a dinner at his friend’s house the next day. At the time it could seem mundane, while to me such an invitation felt simply special and exciting. I was honored and looked forward to it. I didn’t say anything about X procrastinating his dreams, I simply felt like it wasn’t my place to keep pushing him. He had to do it himself.

Rocking it across the South
Mark Mark decided to show me the old way out of Baton Rouge. As we wavered through the bushes my escort spilled some morning sailor's wisdom “We are better than everybody!" Then he added:" But in fact, we are just like everybody else”. What can I say? I am just a guy from Ukraine on a journey to find my vocation. After about one hour it was time to say goodbye to each other and part our ways. I sure wished Mark to go on his own journey.

When Jesus didn't answer me.. Top Story - January 2023.
I was standing alone in a desert. It was windy and dark. The sun had already gone over the horizon, and night had come down to face me. By then I understood that darkness is inevitable and that we are only passing through as guests. I could only spot a few specific lights in this seemingly abandoned little town. Hopefully, there was someone to help me find a place where I could spend the night. My first stop was usually a fire station.

Extra angry on a top.
"Oleg, table nine left, no pay!"- I hear my manager's mom saying with a Vietnamese accent. "Okay, and what type of rice do you want with that? Steamed? Ok. Sriracha? Sure. Twelve packets of it? Sure(I had to squeeze that one out of me). How long will it take? Ten-twelve minutes. See you then, bye." And they say that there is no service in taking out. It blows my brains out how much service I have to do during some of these take-outs, and this is our future. "Oleg, table for four."-said M. showing four fingers.

1. Mother. Woods. My mother and I were slowly walking on a hill that looked down on this small Ukrainian town’s local stadium, which resembled a small amphitheater. Inside the stadium, there was a track filled with students from a local high school running in circles.

Growing up as a teenager in a small town in Ukraine meant for me, that I have two roads. To put it simply it was either to do sports or to do drugs. Every day, after the gym, where I’d been practicing judo since I was ten years old I would take the same road home. Tired or not, it was hard to get lost in it. All I had to do was keep going in a straight line.

Early this morning, after dealing with our cat's nausea episode and cleaning up consequences, I went back to bed, hoping to enter the dreamland again. I thought an article or two would help my body to relax and doze off. Oh, well, I signed up for a ride and it made some noise in my head.

Neon Genesis Evangelion
I remember the time, when I was in the middle of my teens, which was about 15 years ago. The world would get to real sometimes, too physical in my case and I wanted to be a hero, a hero in my father's eyes and others, who were dear to me. It was my phantasy, my escape, my dream. It was that time when I saw those characters in splendid costumes, teenage boys and girls, fighting with fiery eyes full of vigilant piercing determination to destroy everything that lies in their way, mainly giant monsters, called angels, but never got an opportunity to watch it. About ten days ago, thanks to my friend's advice I finally did see it. If there are robots, a dystopian world, beautiful girls, guys, school uniforms, the concept of which I could relate to still, even remember how much I hated to iron that uniform much less wearing it just because of someone's rules.
