Worthy
It is said music can heal a broken heart, restore a fragmented soul and regenerate the body. Me, being the skeptic gal, did not want to give credit to the mumbo jumbo of “music is universal” and “music helps to reduce heart rate, lower blood pressure and cortisol in the body”. If that was true, how come when I listen to Metallica, I just want to be in the middle of a boxing ring beating the hell out of something? No, sir. No ma’am. Music has a purpose and that is to entertain the masses or be a temporary band-aid for unwanted feelings. The universe, knowing how shallow I can be for my limited beliefs on occasion, decides to throw a curveball and show me, once and for all, the power in music when it comes to my self-esteem.

Welcome to Lizzieland
Today I got a visit from my friend Lizzie. I have no idea when exactly Lizzie came into my life. What I do know is that she has been a constant in my everyday rustics for quite some time. Lizzie is the kind of friend that is smart and obnoxious at the same time. For instance, I have a plan to go to the supermarket to buy bread, but something happens along the way that prevents me to go at the appointed time. Then lunchtime comes, I don’t have bread. Normally, I would not care, but my friend Lizzie sees that and there she goes. “I told you to get organized, didn’t I? How many times have we gone through this? And now there is no bread, so you can’t make the sandwich, and there is nothing else in the fridge andItoldyoubreadwasneededbutyoudidnotlistenandlookatyouknow….”

The Harbor of My Journeying Soul
When I was young, my father used to work at the local beach making sure the campgrounds were in top conditions for the tourists. On one of those occasions, my father found a book on the sand, forgotten by its owner. The book was called Tigana, by Guy Gavriel Kay.
