What the Five Nights at Freddy's Movie means for Video game adaptations going forward
If you were a teenager growing up in the mid 2010's there is no way you've not heard of Five Nights at Freddys, AKA FNAF. It's really a bizzare occurance that led to the popularity of the series throughout almost the last decade, and almost instantaneously at that. Scott Cawthon, the creator of FNAF, released the first four games literally within a year of each-other- which is absolutely insane to me, considering big name companies spend sometimes literally a decade of time to create a sequel to a popular game, only for it to fall flat upon release.

How I fell in love with Super Mario Galaxy
As a child, I enjoyed spending my time playing video games. I found it to be a form of escapism, as well as a wonderful experience where I enjoyed my time trying to beat this game. I had only ever played PC games like Harry Potter games, or minesweeper up to this point. This all changed in 2008 when my family bought a Nintendo Wii, which was the first video game console I had ever owned. So when we set it up after moving, my parents, siblings and I sat down to play the first game for this iconic system: Wii Sports.

The biggest problem with the Star Wars Sequels
The very first Star Wars movie I ever watched was The Force Awakens when it came out in 2015. I was 15 at the time, and although I had seen all of the other Star Wars films that had come out already, I couldn't help but be excited about what i was going to watch. This was a monumental occasion and I was ready to watch this film. Around 2 and a half hours later, I thought it was a fairly good movie, but it would only be a few months later that the internet's opinions would start changing slowly but dramatically about the film. As the other films were being made, and then released, each film dramatically turned out differently to the point where more and more people (including the actors in the film) began to have issues about the films and problems began to pop up left and right! So, what happened? Why were these highly anticipated films now being treated as if they were the worst thing since "The Room"? To me, this has to do with what Disney thought of as "damage control".

It's ok to like Sequels and Remakes- Movies are supposed to be fun!
It wouldn't be inaccurate to say that cinema has hit a dead end as of late. This isnt to say that there are no more original movies being made, that would just be an incorrect statement to make. Filmmakers such as Quentin Tarantino and Martin Scorcesse still make movies that they want to make from ideas that they got from being inspired by certain genres, but it seems that the norm of cinema is continuing stories from the past instead of trying to create new stories. There of course is nothing wrong with huge franchises like that of Star Wars, or the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe for those who hate acronyms) because while there are an overabundance of stories with the same plot- like Star Wars: A New Hope, and Star Wars: The force awakens- There are movies in the same series that try something new, and attempt to stand out by taking risks, even if they don't always work out.

Why it's OK to be single on Valentines day
When Valentines day rolled around, I felt pretty alone. I was living in the dorms of the University of Victoria for my first year, and I was dreading the 14th as I had for previous years as well. The reason I felt this way was because previously, I had never had much luck with asking out the person i had a crush on. My relationship's up until then had only lasted a couple months, and I felt that Valentines day was super important to get right. The only Valentines day that I had with a partner so far is when we went bowling, which was definitely fun, but it felt more like friends hanging out instead of a romantic outing with someone, so I had no way of knowing if I was doing anything right.
