Jacob Valdis hated trains. He hated them almost as much as he hated his father. So waking to the click click click of the wheels and the wail of the horn made his heart quicken and his skin break out in a cold sweat. The swaying motion of the car, far from soothing, made him nauseous.

There weren't always dragons in the Valley. It was said to be a place of magic, where lords and ladies ruled the world. People would often make a pilgrimage to the Valley, for great blessings could be found for you and your children. They said it was a place of wonder.
