Understanding the Impact of Food Choices on Fat Loss If you've watched any of my past nutrition article or even attempted a diet of your own, then you're probably aware of the notion that, at the end of the day, weight loss is all about calories in versus calories out. As long as you're eating at a calorie deficit and consuming an adequate amount of protein, you can successfully lose weight and strip off fat, regardless of what and when you eat. While this is scientifically true and aligns with the basic law of thermodynamics, this simplistic model fails to account for how the various foods we consume actually affect these two variables.
