The bakery case glowed like the gates of heaven itself, but only one dessert called my name. There it sat—a triple-fudge cupcake so perfect it should've been illegal. The frosting swirled upward in a majestic tower, dusted with glittering sugar crystals that caught the light like edible diamonds. My mouth watered just looking at it.
