The Wailing Woman

Generations of people had heard the story of the Wailing Woman. It was rumored that a woman's cries could be heard resonating through the streets of the village on quiet evenings. The cries were thought to be coming from the ghost of a woman who had tragically passed away and was now pacing the hamlet looking for her kid. A young pair named Maria and Juan were going home one evening after a party. Although they had heard the tales of the Wailing Woman, they didn't take them seriously. They were walking down the dark, deserted street when they abruptly heard a lady crying. They took a glance around, but no one was in sight. They made an effort to disregard the cries and carried on moving.
