As far as I can look back in time, I have been told that engineering is in my blood. I come from a family of engineers and come from a country where engineers are revered. My parents thanked all the gazillion deities in my religion when they realized that I had a natural inclination towards technology and science. They were happy that they would not be forcing me to do anything. I was labelled as the next engineer in the family.

Not Lost Anymore
I had almost given up on writing. Before this, all I had to show for my blog was a terrible attempt at poetry, a weight loss post, and my 2021 diary entry which collectively garnered 56 views. My aversion to writing came from the delusion that my experiences cannot be unique to me. The countless voices on the internet proved that what I was feeling and experiencing is not exclusive to me. I used this delusion to counteract any urge to write, believing that I will be embarrassed.

A Case For Hope
Dear Me, I know that even the thought of making plans scares you now. The eyes that were full of dreams and hopes are too scared to do that now. All the dreams and hopes of great 2020 were crushed by the time March came around. Hopelessness gripped you and has not left you since.

Strike the Roots
In this pandemic, I did the most cliché thing ever at night: walk up to the refrigerator to find something that would fill the emptiness inside me. The only comfort I get from this habit of mine is that I am not alone. One in three of you reading this also do that. It is frustrating to indulge in those sugary items only to curse yourself when you stand on the weighing scale. Even my story was like that until this year.
