The couple spent the entire night playing sweepstakes with only five dollars left in their pockets while being mesmerized by the horses galloping around the racetrack. The husband announced that he would attend the races alone the next day. He placed five dollars on the outcast for the opening race, and the pony won. He entered the subsequent race with all of his prizes and again prevailed. He was quite lucky that day as his rewards had reached $30,000 at night.
