We drove up the snowy, winding road towards the cozy A-frame cabin. A clear reminder of what I need to do. A trip from work is often a good token but this was representative of my one chance left and a reminder I shouldn't mess up. The toleration of me so far, I feel has been because they know my charismatic parents and their belief I'm not maximizing my ability, at least not yet. I can be an artist but it just doesn't serve me. This four day work trip up to Minnesota sounded interesting. I drove to the cabin, a fellow employee recommended with with my friend to enjoy a little break on her maternity leave. She was uneasy about doing this due to her worry and attachment her son, Adrien. It also seemed out of tradition for the Douglas family women but her husband, Kellen encouraged her to take the opportunity. " Inès, are you good? We're here now!", I said. She wakes up a bit groggy and apologized for sleeping through most of the four hour drive there. "Oh please don't apologize", I tell her. "Auri, this looks great. I hope the drive wasn't too bad.",she said. To which I reply it was fine.

"I hope I get it, I hope I get it, I hope I get it". I wake up, put off my rain sounds and think for a bit. It's interesting seeing how far I've come and a bit overwhelming too. I put this aside remembering I have so much to look forward to this week. "Aaah! Four more days until graduation! Finally ! ", I squealed. I only have a couple of things left on my to-do list before travel-altering my suit and altering my speech. "Hmm..maybe more references? or should I be more relatable?", I thought. I get my notepad on my desk and reach for a pen in the stationary holder. I see my "Believe in what you believe" button in there and sigh with a flash of memories. I got it with my closest friend from elementary to middle school until I moved for high school and she moved with relocation. We shared an appreciation for the Wormholes show and attended a convention where we got the buttons. I wonder-

What ELSE could go wrong?
Going to reunite with extended family can be an interesting decision and the winter 2017 trip, was no different. Using[redacted] airlines was a hit or miss, and this time a family of six got a miss. We planned on travelling during the holidays for a family gathering as everyone was coming together. Destination- London, UK from Toronto, Canada. We would be spending Christmas and New years' there. The itinerary for the first part of the journey included a 6-hour plus direct flight to London Heathrow airport. We planned everything and remained on schedule so far. We had the Canadian exclusive candies and things, we had some snacks for ourselves and some extra socks. The airline we were going to use was known to be extremely cold from my parents' experience and we were ready for it.

De-void
"Nobody can hear a scream in the vacuum of space" or so they say, that's what I thought in the depths of my mind as my lungs ached from screaming. Screaming seems pointless when no one can hear you in an oxygen filled helmet. Although, it was my instinctive reaction after being expelled from my connector cord. The concept of space remains interesting as it remains vast but close, bright but dark and attractive but warning. It's a bit more silent than you would think but that scared me a bit more, because the silence had depth in it's void. Floating idly as I gave up panicking is eerily more peaceful especially with 4 spare canisters of oxygen in my flourecent white jogger suit. I have been out for what feels like 2 hours but actually 40 minutes. The accelor watch may not be able to contact anyone for now but i still have the time running on earth's EST which we are all adjusted to. Being in space is incredible but being expelled from homehub X110 is not as incredible. The food and resources have grown desolate just as my hope of being returned to any of that. The eco-system has been going well for the population and seems to be progressing with productivity and efficiency but if they had fixed the second lower home base connector, I wouldn't be floating with my thoughts on an infinite trampoline.

The family train
"Ughh…" I groaned as I woke up from the most comfortable sleep I've had in transportation. "Seems like I will be using the train from now on", I thought. I moved the juice glass, safety brochure and what seemed to be a hundred napkins on the table to look for my phone. As I looked for it, I noticed the train moved a bit faster than normal but nothing outrageous. The unfamiliar scenery outside piqued my curiosity as I saw a new red bait shop amongst the rural atmosphere of farmers. The shop had a small but noticeable sign saying, "don't be caught up in the mix". "Ha…not a bad pun", I thought.
