While prescription drugs can help heroin addicted people reduce cravings for the opiates, like heroin and oxycodone, Suboxone is able to be administered to an individual without the aid of a prescription. This Suboxone treatment, or naloxone and buprenorphine, is administered via an intravenous line in the arm or through a nasal spray.
