The Marsh
one day Nasruddin was walking to town, when he saw some woods by the road. ‘I wonder why people don’t go that way, as a short-cut to the town,’ he mused. He decided to try. Halfway across, his foot went into a marsh, and his shoe came off, and was sucked under. ‘All right,’ he said to the mud, ‘I know why now – give me back my shoe.’ The mud said nothing. So the Mulla retraced his steps to the road, walked into town and then went back to the mud. ‘Marsh, marsh,’ he said, ‘I have given back the stolen time and effort to the short-cut: now give me back my slipper.’ No answer, so he reached into the mud and after a great struggle, he found his shoe.

While she did this, his snoring wasn’t halted, not even for a second. “I hate to do this, my lover, but I can’t live off love alone.” She went outside to inform the Philistine soldiers that it was safe to go in and arrest him.

To Plant a Garden
Thornton Gombar lifted his gaze to the sky as a hovercraft zoomed over his home. Based on the rosy pink tints that adorned its exterior, Thornton surmised that the vehicle was a pleasure craft, likely filled with a small group of men and women engaging in gross debauchery as the self-driving vehicle propelled itself across the sky. The craft jerked and jolted in an arrhythmic manner as it flew to the heart of Homasoro City, where even more such activities awaited them.

Hazel
You know how when a dog is at the end of their life, its owner will give them a perfect day before taking them to be put down? Like, take them to the dog park, the beach and let them eat a McDonald’s hamburger? Well, July 14th was the day I designated to do that for myself.
