He sat back down at the table, setting a pint of cider down in his place and another in front of her. It's often said that friendships you make in college are more likely to become close and last through hardships, although that's normally said in regards to students going through their college years at a "normal" age rather than a decade late. However, the saying still applied to them, over the year they had grown close. It turned out to be closer than expected.
