Charade
He rattled a fist in front of her face and told her not to shout again, or he would bury a punch in her womb. She ignored his warning and slapped her palms together, daring him to do his worst. They were standing at the bus stop causing a scene. He was the conductor, and she a passenger.

I sold my life.
She stands up from among the bodies piled around her. Notices the air as it flows through her scalp. She does not smell the decomposed corpses because she has attained a nature of retrieving their coins which cannot transfer into the afterlife.

Knowing I need to look inward each day is scary. I sometimes ignore doing so, and I procrastinate on most things like that out of fear. Never staying on a path. Just being there and not. Being present and sometimes folding into staring at my phone.

I have been standing too long, never sitting, never waiting so much to lean back in patience. Never looking to watch, not watch as in see, but see as in watch from an open view.

I love it when he calls me Lollita. He is always rolling his tongue like Lolly, Lollylly, my Lollita. It always makes me feel good, too good. Even when he missed my calls yesterday night when I wanted to see him.

The sun shines on everything but inside this room, light ceased to exist. A loud voice rang through the air, its welder somewhere within, with feet thudding the floor as he spoke.
