Being a caregiver for over 27 years, in various caregiving capacities including giving care as a clinician, as a caregiver to my mother who suffered, and ultimately died of cervical cancer, and later in my pre-retirement years worked as an in-home caregiver/companion made me realize the magnitude of compassion, care, and resilience needed to survive.
