Maivyn received her Creative Writing degree in 2019, right before COVID changed the way how the world operated. Life has been swift and now she grieves for all the things and people she didn't get to. She is writing it as she goes.

Retribution
She was supposed to be on vacation, enjoying drunken nights, hiking up her skirts toward young, lewd men who gave no thought to knowing her name. On the second night of her stay in the local town, she was sitting at some random bar and taking a few shots back, enjoying the view of the beach and young people dancing when she felt Archangel Gabriel, God's little messenger appeared beside her. She didn't turn to face Gabriel, instead, Lilith waved to the bartender, and he came around to pour her another shot of whiskey.

A freckled-white creature, belonging to the family of Strigidae, swooped to the open window sill with a small prey in its claw. Its prominent face, which appeared to be outlined with a small thin line, resembled a heart-shaped moon. The creature hopped off the window and towards its mate in an awkward walk. The food carried back was intended for its mate that huddled in a small corner of the attic.
