Part 1 October 16th, 2019 Pop. My mother swiftly snatched two slices of toast out from the toaster; the kitchen smelled divine. She wasn’t usually as anal about breakfast preparation as she was this morning, but, my father was home later than usual today and would be joining us at the table so, it must be perfect. I understood. My father is a very important man. He is a state senator. Strong. Powerful. Maybe a little abrasive, but he always knew what to do in time of need. He was the voice of reason and a trustworthy one at that.
