Two Worlds and One Cup of Coffee
It began with a five-dollar bill passed through a passenger-side window by a complete stranger. The car was stopped in the drop-off lane at the front entrance of the children’s hospital. A weathered, exhausted mother sat in the passenger seat while her husband hurried a stroller shaped like a blue race car back up to the seventh floor—the floor that had been home for the past seven days.

In The Cracks of Light
It is the sun speckling my forearm with radiant kisses as my hand guides through the ebs and flows of the wind, my hair leaving wisping traces across my cheeks as I head through nothingness disguised with cornfields and patches of woods that have turned green for a season. In those moments where melodic soliloquies transport me into another realm of poetic fantasy, that is where I can be truly beyond what my body so viciously remembers.

Prompt #5
WHAT WAS A MAJOR TURNING POINT IN YOUR LIFE? I can tell you this much- being a kid, accountability for growing up is never forced until you reach a certain age. What do I mean by that? For example, adults are always telling your to "stay little", "don't rush to grow up", "enjoy being a kid". We have all heard it. Why? Because as kids ,we couldn't wait to grow up and live life unapologetically with our own set of rules. No one to tell us when to go to bed, what to watch, what chores need to be completed, what to wear. We would be our own compasses in life and we could go wherever the wind blew us.

Prompt #4
WHAT ARE SOME THINGS THAT YOU HAVE HAD TO UNLEARN? In January 2022, I felt as though I needed to go on a journey of self-healing. After having gone through 2 of the most difficult years with covid restrictions, a massive amount of uncertanties, and being isolated from life as we knew it- I felt as though, it would be a good time to get in touch with myself.

Prompt #3
HOW DOES THE PERFECT DAY LOOK LIKE FOR YOU? So, I asked my husband this question. His response, like most times, was as simplistic as it could be. His answer, "I would wake up". There was nothing else to discuss. He isn't a man who uses a lot of words. Well- I take that back. He is very opinionated on matters that are important to him. He has a lot of opinions on health & fitness, politics, current events, weather reports,and....lawn care. I can tell you a few things, 1. sticks are my nemesis 2. if I am ever asked to pull a weed- you will be cussed out. I am just stating facts and truth surrounding my life. If you enjoy outside lawn maintenance, I will give you my address and you and my husband can pick up the sticks and chop down trees to your hearts content. There is over 5 acres, knock yourself out. Well, seriously do not take that literally, the 'knocking yourself out' part. You know what I meant. And if you don't....grow up *in the nicest way that can possibly be said*.
