I love making fun of my emotions, feelings, and thoughts in short form writing such as songs and illustrations. I would like to write longer and more explorative pieces for others to read.

The Last Thing I Remembered
The last thing I remember is staring at a photo of my grandmother, mother, and myself as a baby. The next thing I know I am in the 1920’s in a buggy. There is a man who turns to look at me. He resembles a young version of my grandfather. “Miriam, are you feeling okay?”

Stitching Stories of Me
When the gray skies roll in and my soul feels torn and incomplete, I go for a run. As I climb up the hills and see the side of the slopes there is a feeling of breaking through a web of negative thoughts and feelings. The ascent reminds me of flying out of my dark past and into the light.

A Letter to Self
Dear Self, I am sorry for all of the years I have mistreated you. I have ignored your thoughts and feelings. I have been telling you that you were wrong. While I do this, I have praised everyone around you. The self-expressed friend who yells and screams for being smart and knowing lots of people. She had one hell of resume to keep all those people in her life. Then there was that friend who was always complaining but she was so good at coaching you through your darkest days but was mad at you for months for checking in. And saying are you sure you’re not worrying yourself into sickness?
