The song closest to my heart
Someone Somewhere by Asking Alexandria Music is one thing in this world that can bring people from all walks of life together. Whether you’re old or young, rich or poor, there are so many different genres of music that bring people together. Music has always been an essential part of my life, even as a child. I was exposed to different types of music from a small age. I even started playing bass guitar when I was 14. Throughout my teenage years, my musical taste expanded, from listening to only classic rock and country, to some newer music. Back in 2011, one of my favorite bands, Asking Alexandria, came out with an album titled Reckless and Relentless. One song from this album stuck out to me, Someone Somewhere. Though there were a lot of songs by them that I’ve always enjoyed, this song was different. It became very important to me, and still to this day has a place in my heart.

The Loss of a Friend
It’s a sad fact of life today that we lose so many of the younger generations to drugs, violence, and suicide. In the town I grew up in, there always seems to be yet another death, whether it is caused by those reasons or some sort of accident, they always seem to be close in age to me. I've watched countless friends grieve over their best friends and family, but never would I have imagined it would be someone that I was close with. Early this year, this became my reality. My friend Andrew had passed away.

What Doesn't Kill You Makes You Stronger
What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, or so they say. However, what they don't teach you in school is how many mistakes you are bound to make when you enter into the real world. They prepare you for the next class, then the next, with little to no knowledge on what comes after you finish school. To be completely honest, not everyone is even cut out for continuing their education. Some of us launch straight into a job field after we graduate high school, ultimately skipping a post secondary education. Though some of the students in question achieve their own goals just as well as the next person, most jobs with favorable benefits and pay require a college degree.
