The Five Fey
Every night at midnight, the purple clouds came out to dance with the blushing sky. The sweet scent of apple blossoms caressed the cheek and slid silently up reddened noses. The grass was cool and dew was collecting on the hem of their dresses as they steadily strode up the small hill. The field below was surface still, but undulating slightly; like a dark sea. They reached the stone circle just as the amethyst moon broke through the clouds. They quietly set about spreading blankets and lighting candles. The moon shone so brightly the candles were not necessary, but symbolic and customary. The fey placed the candles in a circle by their feet then slowly laid down on the woolen blankets with their feet at the center; fanning out their hair above their heads. The candlelight danced and swayed with the most subtle of breezes. And so, they waited, the five fey.

Rebuild Team 2
Henry had built his room with tarps and bits and pieces of this and that. The colossal window was leaning inwards, held up by an assortment of garbage and boards, blown inward when the bomb pushed its murderous hellfire winds up and out. It was not ideal, but he said it was temporary until he figured out what to do with the window. She visited him most days. She should be helping with the rebuild, but her asthma prevented her from doing much considering everything in this quarter was still covered in thick ash.

Solitaire
The wind whipped my hair up and around my face. The door slammed behind me with a heavy thud, startling me and my boss who was shocked to see me out there. I grabbed at the clumps of hair stuck to my recently applied Cherry Boss lip gloss. I had stood in front of the employee bathroom mirror applying layer after layer of lip gloss planning for different scenarios. The request could go all manners of ways. Well, here we go. I strode over to her with purpose. She stared at me with her arms crossed with one bare hand holding her just lit cigarette and the other gloved hand hugging herself tight. She took a deep inhale, squinting at me.
