Bio
I'm a hardworking wife and mother just trying to survive in this crazy world. If I can make some of the money we need to survive by sharing some of my life and maybe some fictions too that would be great. (I change names in true stories.)

Training a Pack
Tara lay in her bed and let the sounds of nature outside of her window lull her to sleep. Her family home in the woods may seem scary at night to some but she found it peaceful. Other foster kids often came and went. Many of them were from the city and didn't like to hear bears foraging for food, squirrels and racoons fighting over the bird feeders, and wolves howling as they patrolled their territory. Foster kids would be dropped off and then beg their worker to take them somewhere else after several nights of insomnia brought on by what they described as creepy animals in the woods.

Never Done Teaching Me
I focused on my breathing as we waited for my dad to arrive. He hadn't met any of his grandchildren yet and it felt right to me that he be present for the first breaths of this one. So far, he was who I called on when I was nervous or scared. He'd always reassured me that life would turn out okay and guide me when I needed a push in the right direction. This was the most nervous I've ever been.

For the Love of Chaos
That wasn't the way it was meant to go. It was just supposed to be a prank. Nobody was supposed to get hurt. As CEO he probably should have gotten some help from the science department before mixing chemicals together in the ventilation shafts. He was trying to make red smoke come out of the vents to cause a slight panic. He didn't know that dry ice would cause such a problem. Some of the employees had gotten sick and those with respiratory problems were now either in the hospital or the morgue. As for Jack, the CEO responsible for the prank gone wrong, he was now in jail facing charges for criminal negligence and, as of an hour ago, involuntary manslaughter.

Snow Flake
I was coming home from a snack run to the store at the beginning of winter. I wasn't sure why at first but I had suddenly gotten a craving for a specific type of candy (I think it was Skittles) and just had to go to the store and get some. As I got home and the snow started falling harder I heard the sound of a cat meowing. It sounded sad and I began looking around. I missed it at first as the cat's white fur blended in with the snow. As it came towards me I could spotted the movements and I knelt down to wait patiently for it to decide if I was worth coming to. It hardly needed any coaxing though as it climbed right into my arms seeking warmth.

Tiger
I was anxious to say the least. There was no real reason why other than the fact that I had anxiety and depression that had gone untreated for a few months. Maintaining a therapist seemed unreasonable at this point. We had no car and no licenses to drive anyway. I wasn't generally in the mood to walk to therapy every time I had an appointment. I had to be in the mood to go somewhere and cabs were a bit out of our price range.

The Worst Week
TUESDAY I was still half asleep when my husband barged into the bedroom in a near state of panic. I sighed, assuming the boys had agitated him again before remembering that they were staying at my grandparents house in the country for tonight. Something was really up. Yawning, I rolled over and got ready to ask what's wrong.

The Closet Case
I answered the phone as I got ready to help Daniel with whatever it was he needed. He was helping our former landlord repair some damages to a recently emptied unit. He usually called when he needed me to bring his tools downstairs or get supper going so he could eat when he got home. God forbid he actually remember to take a lunch break when he was doing his construction work.
